Animal At Large

Animals off their property - Cats Excluded

Cats are not subject to the leash laws and must be contained before pick up

Neglect - Any animal not being fed, watered, sheltered or cared for responsibly.
Cruelty - Any animal that is being physically abused.

Confined Stray Dog

Example: tied up, fenced backyard, etc.

All Officers run these calls Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm. You must be home to sign the animal off the property.

Confined Animal - Cat

Example: in a box, in a trap, etc.

You must be present to sign the animal off the property so a proper bite report can be documented

All Officers run these calls Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm, and you must be home to sign the animal off the property.

Please follow these instructions
  • An adult may be home to sign the animal off the property
  • OR
  • You have the option to leave a note with the confined animal if you are not going to be there
The note must include:
  • Your name, phone number, and address
  • Written statement that, to the best of your knowledge, the cat has not bitten or scratched anyone
  • A statement releasing the animal to the CCSPCA
  • California ID or Driver's License number
The confined cat must be:
  • In an open, accessible front yard
  • Under the shade

Confined Animal - Wildlife

Example: under a laundry basket, in a box, etc.

You must be present to sign the animal off the property so a proper report can be documented

Review Complaint

Complaint Info:

All complaints will be recorded within 24 hours except weekends and holidays. All weekend and holiday complaints will not be processed until the next business day. Complaints will be assigned to an Animal Control Officer and, depending on priority, will be handled within 1-3 days.

In order for us to properly handle your complaint, we may need to verify information or gather additional information. You must be available for contact if we need further information regarding the complaint. CCSPCA dispatchers may need additional clarification on complaints therefore we need your information so we may contact you. We will not process your complaint if insufficient information is provided.

If confidentiality is an issue, please note that in the statement field and we will do our best, within the confines of the law, to not disclose your identity without prior notice and consent.
