FIRST PLACE

My Favorite Breed of Dog and Why

My alarm goes off and a furry little nose nuzzles me, telling me it's time to get up. As I get ready for the day, my best friend follows at my feet. I leave home, and soft brown eyes stare out the window, telling me good-bye.

Brown eyes are in the window once again welcoming me home when I return. A little fur ball dances at my feet, jumps in ;my lap, and kisses my chin. She is happy to see me and loves me unconditionally. Her name is Tinkerbelle and she is the reason Pomeranians are my favorite breed.

SECOND PLACE

Mystery Cat

Sneaky and sly
Friendly but yet shy
She purrs sweetly
As she sleeps so meekly
Soft fur for me to pet
Softer than velvet I bet
She stands and stretches after her nap
Walks and jumps into my lap
She looks at me with her majestic eyes
"Look at me," they seem to cry
Outlined with black, they jump out at me
So secretive and full of mystery
She looks as though she deserves respect, demands it
Like a throne is where she sits
She is the image of true beauty
I love my little Siamese kitty

THIRD PLACE

My Favorite Breed Of Dog

An only child of a working mother, I have always felt alone. On my 2nd birthday I got a Cocker Spaniel. I would count down to the moment I could go home from school to play with her. I grew up with a lot of problems and that tiny dog helped me get through most of them. ; Whenever I needed someone to talk to or just take away my tears she was there. Two months ago at the age of 16 she passed away. I never knew how much she had actually done for me until that moment.

FOURTH PLACE

Tiffany

Tiffany was a beautiful and smart little black Chihuahua. She was my mom's "other" baby and would follow her everywhere. No one could get by mom without Tiffany barking. I still remember how she slept so still, but snored so loud. Her love was always unconditional for all, even though she loved my mom the most. Tiffany also loved to play with kids. She bonded our family together, to play with each other and to cherish some sweet memories.

FIFTH PLACE

My Favorite Breed of Dogs and Why

I want to become a veterinarian, so I admire all breeds of dogs. However, the breed I am most fond of is a Springer Spaniel. These dogs are one of the most gentle, loving and all-around extraordinary dogs I have ever come to know. My Springer was well behaved, beautiful, a good friend, and learning the basic commands faster than any dog I've had. Sadly my pup, Magoo died shortly after I purchased him, but it always seemed like he'd been my longtime friend. I only hope to find another just like him.

SIXTH PLACE

My Cool Dog

Many dogs amaze me, but the boxer is my favorite breed. First, I used to have a boxer, and he was very much energetic. When I was in bed, he used to jump, and start licking me. Later, he won many things such as the "National Championship," in my country. He won the championship in Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Furthermore, I will always remember him. He had gotten killed by a man, and I was really sad. I did not see how he had gotten shot, but I felt depressed from then on. In conclusion the boxer named, Voja, will always be in my heart.
