Happy 100th Birthday, Mildred Wedgeworth!

It was a special honor to be in attendance of Mildred Wedgeworth’s 100th birthday celebration! This being enough of a gift in itself, the CCSPCA also received the donation jars she had been saving since starting them on her 99th birthday. Her wish a year ago was to have all of her family and friends donate to the animals instead of flowers or gifts, and she expected all visitors to add to the jar each time they stopped by!!

Please enjoy these wonderful photos of a special lady and by her own admission “there are not that many people like me!” The horse she is holding she carved when she was twenty. Mildred was still riding horses throughout her eighties (and climbing trees as well, I was told), she also writes beautiful poetry which we will share in another blog. We are still counting up the total so please also stay tuned for that special number to follow. We love you Mildred and can’t wait to visit with you again!!!
