Thank you for your interest in becoming a Foster Parent! Foster parents provide temporary care for our animals in their own homes until they are ready for adoption and to be placed in their permanent home. Some animals need as little as two weeks of care, while others may need care for several months. View pets in need of Foster Care.
By offering your love, time, energy, support and home to an animal in need, you prepare the animal for adoption into a permanent home as well as help prevent overcrowding in our animal care center. Central California SPCA is always looking for foster homes and we provide all veterinary care and reduced fees for medicine for foster animals, plus plenty of support to foster parent volunteers.
We ask for you, the Foster Parent, to dedicate your time, energy, love, support and offer pet supplies, food and a place in your home. The foster animals include those too young for adoption, animals recovering from illness or injury, animals awaiting transport to another Humane Society, and those in need of extra socialization. When ready, foster pets are returned to the animal care center to await adoption.
Foster parents are welcome to help in the re-homing process by sharing photos, attending offsite adoption locations such as Petsmart, or by sponsoring their fosters spay/neuter to reduce the adoption fee. If you are interested in becoming a foster parent or would like to make a donation to this program, please call (559) 233-7722 x 127 or reach us via email at foster@ccspca.com.
