  • Description/Contact Information: It breaks our hearts to post this, but we're looking to find a new home for our sweet girl, Penny. She's an 8-month-old Great Pyrenees mix - with a little bit of Golden Retriever and Bloodhound. (her dad was 120 lbs and her mom about 90 lbs), so she'll be a big, beautiful dog when fully grown.

Penny is loyal, intelligent, and loves being part of a family. She's crate trained, knows basic commands, and enjoys enrichment activities like snuffle mats, fetch, and frozen treat toys. She has so much love and potential - she just needs the right environment to thrive.

Like many protective breeds, Penny can be a bit possessive of her food or special treats, especially in busy settings. We've been working through this with positive, consistent training, and she's made great progress. She'll do best with someone confident and experienced with large guardian breeds who can continue that structure and leadership.

We live in a suburban area, and it's just not the ideal setting for her size and temperament. Penny would thrive most on a property or ranch with room to roam, where she can be outside more and feel relaxed.

She loves kids, but would do best with older children due to her high energy and size.

She is hesitant about other dogs and hasn't been around them very much.

She's healthy, up to date on vaccinations, and ready to bring joy to the right home. We truly love her and just want what's best - a peaceful environment and someone who understands her breed and personality.

If you or someone you know might be a great fit for Penny, please reach out. We're happy to share more about her routine, temperament, and the progress she's made. ??

HOW PET REHOMING WORKS WITH CCSPCA

The animals featured on this page are being rehomed by pet owners in the Central Valley who live specifically in Fresno County and the surrounding counties of Kings, Madera, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, and Tulare.

These animals are not in the care of CCSPCA, so all arrangements to meet/adopt must be made between potential adopters and the pet owner. Note: Central California SPCA is not responsible for the pets on this page. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating with pet owners, especially when acquiring veterinary records and/or other necessary information.

PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT rehome strays, fosters, rescues, abandoned, or found animals.
