National Dog Week

In recognition of National Dog Week, September 22-28, our Junior Volunteers are sponsoring a dog for a week. On Sunday they volunteered their time at our Animal Center where they were able to pick a dog whose adoption they wanted to promote and to find a home for. They were able to spend some quality time providing attention and exercise to the dog they chose in order to enhance its adaptability.

At the end of the day each volunteer created a biography card of the dog they worked with. By stepping into the shoes of our Adoption Agents, the Junior Volunteers learned the process of an adoption along with recognizing healthy behavior in a dog and the hard work it can take trying to find a home for one of the many animals that come to our Animal Center.

Through compassion and caring, our Junior Volunteers are making a positive difference for the animals while also becoming a positive influence for their peers.
