Junior Volunteers Celebrate Animal Center Pet’s Birthday – “DOGust 1st”

In recognition of all the animal center pets without a known birthday, our junior volunteers celebrated their birthday on August 1. “DOGust 1st” is a recognized nationwide birthday celebrated for all shelter pets. Our junior volunteers had a great time making it a special day for all our furry friends. They got to sponsor a pet of their choice and make them “It’s My Birthday!” kennel signs and “Adopt Me” bandanas. Each junior volunteer brought a present (donation) for the animals and made pet treats. The junior volunteers participated in animal related games and enjoyed the company of other volunteers, who like them, come to celebrate and promote the lives of those animals who wait to have a new family.
