Bruiser, a 3 year old Boston Terrier, came to the CCSPCA as a malnourished and sickly stray. When his owners did not arrive to reclaim him, he was moved over to the CCSPCA Adoption Center for further treatment. While Bruiser did show some improvement, he needed further treatment, and a lot of extra TLC (with unlimited hugs and kisses).
One Saturday afternoon, the Beal family came to the CCSPCA Adoption Center looking for a new family member. They came upon Bruiser and decided instantly that he was the one for them. While Bruiser was not in the best of shape, it mattered not to the Beals. They were instantly in love. After speaking with the Beals, it was agreed that they would take Bruiser home where they would follow up on his care with their family veterinarian.
After 5 months with the Beal family, Bruiser is now healthy, on a grain free diet and has gained 3 pounds. Bruiser now spends his days at the park, taking car rides with his mom and dad, and playing with his new brother (also a Boston Terrier). Extra special thanks to the Beal family, for volunteering to take on Bruiser as their foster dog.
We will be needing many more Foster families during our ASPCA Rachel Ray 100K Challenge in the months of June, July & August. If you would like to become a CCSPCA Volunteer and/or a CCSPCA Foster Family, please contact us!
