Meet Linda Stolling, Our New Volunteer Services Manager

Linda-Stolling-CCSPCA

The Central California SPCA would like to introduce our new volunteer services manager, Linda Stolling.  Stolling has an extensive background in working with non-profits and managing customer service positions.  Stolling graduated from California State University, Fresno with a bachelor’s of arts in Recreational Administration.  After graduation she landed a job with Yosemite National Park for the concessionaire and stayed with them for 24 years.  Next she was the director of recruitment for a local non-profit college for nine years.   Her family moved to Pennsylvania for a quick 18 months, returning to Fresno after they realized they were not “snow people.”  After moving back to Fresno, her job with Yosemite National Park was cut due to the economy and she has found her way to the CCSPCA.

As the volunteer services manager, Stolling’s main goal is “to make the CCSPCA the first place that people think of when considering volunteer organizations and educational opportunities.”  She wants to make the volunteers feel valued and to know they are a key component to completing the daily mission at the CCSPCA.  She also hopes to expand our education opportunities to include a wider variety of classrooms and students.  The volunteer services manager has a myriad of jobs to perform throughout the day and there is no typical day, according to Stolling.  Some of her duties include; promoting our volunteer and educational programs, exploring and implementing ways to improve our processes and programs, giving tours and presentations to school, groups, businesses, and clubs, and training new volunteers – sometimes in a classroom, sometimes by showing them how to walk dogs, clean kennels, wash food bowls, etc.

“As a non-profit organization we all pitch in where and when we are needed; at times doing everything from greeting customers and answering questions, to cleaning and sanitizing the adoption trailer, to taking out the garbage,” Stolling said.

When she is away from the office, she is dedicated to her family – three sons and a husband of 28 years – and her church.  With her church she holds a leadership title, works with youth, helps with a monthly food pantry and sings in the choir.  She also enjoys reading and traveling.

The CCSPCA is excited about Stolling entering our team and can’t wait to see the positive changes she will bring!
