Mendota Cat Project Update

Mendota-Cat-Project-2

The CCSPCA offered a free cat vaccination clinic and free spay/neuter surgeries for the residents of the City of Mendota. The free vaccination clinic and spay/neuter surgeries were made possible by a grant provided to the CCSPCA to help reduce the cat overpopulation in Mendota. As part of the grant stipulations, after the cats receive their vaccinations, we offered a free spay/neuter surgery for them, scheduled at a later date.

The vaccination clinic was held on Saturday, November 7, 2015. We vaccinated over 20 cats and scheduled them for their spay/neuter surgery on Wednesday, November 18, 2015. At the vaccination clinic, we also offered low-cost dog vaccines, microchips, deworming, and flea/tick preventatives, providing services to nearly 100 dogs.

On November 18, 2015 we performed 18 free spay/neuter surgeries. As part of the grant, the CCSPCA picked up the cats in Mendota, transported them to the CCSPCA Spay/Neuter Services department, performed the spay/neuter surgeries, then transported them back to Mendota. Everything went very smoothly and we are extremely excited about being able to provide this service to the City of Mendota.

We are planning to have more free cat vaccination clinics and free spay/neuter surgeries for cats residing in the City of Mendota. Please check our website and Facebook page for future clinic dates.
