Riverdale or River, is a kind and gentle little sole that towers over most of the horses we have here. She is very sweet and learned quickly how to check your pockets for carrots and other goodies. River was brought in 12-23-11 from an investigation for neglect and cruelty. She was extremely under weight and has reached a plateau on her weight gain. She loves to eat, even steals food from Lil John when he’s not looking, but has not put on as much weight as we would like to see on her.
She is considered a young adult horse. There is a possibility that she is saddle broke, but she too will need a structured exercise routine to build up her muscles. She loves to be brushed and petted and will let you know that you have spent way too much time with the other horses and it’s her turn now. Even if she is the first that you greeted when you walked out to the barn. River is also looking for a new home, but will need somebody experienced in a “Hard Keeper” to bring her back up to a more normal body weight.
