All of our animals have a story and some of their stories we come to know better than others.
Huyanna had humans in her life willing to share the portions they knew about her.
Many of our animals have that spark or a reason that urges us go above and beyond for them.
Huyanna had survived Hurricane Katrina and made it to Florida, lived with a family, and
traveled many more miles than most. She became part of a military family and when her family
was deployed, she went to other family members that were not used to the unique personality of
a Husky.
Huyanna, now living in Fresno, came to us as a stray because escaping is a great talent of her!
The family members came in and shared her story and the fact that they could not give Huyanna
the life they felt she deserved. So they put her into our caring hands to find her a new home
that could appreciate her Husky talents while keeping her safe. Huyanna went through our
enrichment program where she was treated, given basic training, and enjoyed by our staff.
Plans were made to share her story through one of our media spots so that she could have the
extra attention needed to find her just the right home. We didn’t get that far because then magic
happened, like it does so often.
James Webster came in to our Animal Center and adopted Huyanna. The elation from our staff
after learning Huyanna was adopted was temendous! We hope that all of the miles from here on
out for Huyanna are filled with happiness with her new forever family.
