Angelo Being Nursed Back to Health

On July 1, 2016, a home was devoured by flames and in the backyard was Angelo, a beloved male German Shepherd, who is the family pet of the Van’s.  Angelo made it out of the fire alive, but is severely burned.  One of our Humane Officers immediately responded to the call about a burned dog and rushed Angelo to Veterinary Emergency Services (VES).  Angelo was cared for by the staff at VES, given pain meds, an IV with fluids, and his burn wounds assessed and bandaged.  He spent five days fighting to live at VES and accumulated a veterinary bill of over $5,000.

On Wednesday July 6, 2016, Angelo was transported to the CCSPCA Small Animal Hospital where he will continue to receive medical care. He is being nursed back to health by our loving, caring medical staff.  He will remain in our care until he is healthy enough to return home.  The Van’s will have complete access to him and can even take him for walks around our campus.

We are asking this community to help Angelo and the Van family.  Unfortunately, the Van’s have lost everything in this fire and are unable to afford Angelo’s costly medical bills.  We are asking for donations to help cover the cost of Angelo’s large veterinary bill.  Please help Angelo and his family by making a donation. Go to ccspca.com and click on the “Donate” button. When asked, be sure to add “Angelo” in the comment section.  All donations marked with his name will go directly to his care.  You can also call us at 559.233.7722 ext. 103 or 108 to make a donation over the phone.
