Thank you to these two girls for their wonderful donation!

On Tuesday March 20th, 2012 two very determined and beautiful young ladies Allison Johnson and Camryn Gonzales inFresno paid the CCSPCA a visit.  With the help of Allison’s mother, Kim, the three pulled up in front of the adoption building and unloaded a truck full of goodies.  These young girls had stepped forward and took up the challenge….”Let’s make a difference in the world”. They decided to do a fundraiser to help not only raise money for the neglected and malnourished horses that had been confiscated by the Central California SPCA, but also to help the many other animals here at the SPCA’s “Open Door Shelter”.  After just two weeks and 24 decorated signs and boxes later, they managed to raise a pile of food, toys, blankets, litter pans, paper towels, treats, dog biscuits and much more for the unwanted and homeless animals in our care…and the success of their mission did not end there.

All of this began with just a single idea, a willingness to help, and a spirit of giving.  Just think…a month or so of preparation and some hard work is all it took for Allison and Camryn to detail out their strategy and put their plan into action, ending with two smiling 13 year olds doing something very special…making a difference and showing that all of us can give to a creature less fortunate a little “bit of heaven”.  These 2 eighth graders have proven that with hard work, determination and a giving heart that anything is possible.  Our deepest and sincerest appreciation to these two girls for their compassion and interest in the welfare of the many horses and animals in our care.  May we also extend a wonderful thank you to all of those who contributed to the success and support of Allison and Camyrn’s project “Fundraiser”….may it serve to be an example for all of us, and may it bring joy and warmth to Allison and Camyrn to know that they did an awesome job and you should feel very proud of yourselves!

On behalf of all of us here at the SPCA and our furry friends and companions we serve, the best of luck in future endeavors…remember great thing are always done by the littlest acts of kindness.
