Clear the Shelter Adoption Promotion with Telemundo 51 Results

Clear-the-Shelter-2

On Saturday August 15, 2015, the Central California SPCA teamed up with Telemundo 51 to participate in the “Clear the Shelter” adoption promotion.

Clear the Shelters was initiated last year in the Dallas-Fort Worth market as a partnership between NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth and Telemundo 39 Dallas-Fort Worth and dozens of animal shelters. This event, which coincides with National Homeless Pet Day, has expanded nationwide and marks the first time that the NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations have joined forces on an initiative like Clear the Shelters.

Telemundo 51 and Radio La Campesina were on location doing live presentations and encouraging people to visit our adoption center and check out this great event. Telemundo 51 filmed all the excitement, adoptions, and activity at our adoption center and education building.

The CCSPCA offered half off adoptions for the “Clear the Shelter” event. Our adoption center was extremely busy with potential adopters. 51 animals found their forever homes that Saturday!

We had 14 educational booths set up during the event. These booths were run by our dedicated volunteers. They were able to provide information to nearly 90 people throughout the day. The available educational booths were as follows: adoption services, grooming services, gift items for sale, animal control services, hospital services, spay/neuter services, pet identification, microchips, dog licensing, children’s activities, “Test Your Animal Knowledge” roulette game, volunteer opportunities, and foster program information.

There were over 30 volunteers helping during the “Clear the Shelter” event. Without their dedication, this event would not have succeeded. We are extremely appreciative of their time, kindness, and help.

We look forward to working with Telemundo 51 and Radio La Campesina in the future.
