  • Description/Contact Information: I am a OLD LADY that has Arthritis and Knee and Leg trouble. So not great on being Steady and times.

Rose is Black with tan legs and I small white area on chest.
She is shy with new people (Jerky treats lets her warm up faster). Not all treats will do. Will remember them for later visits. Acts like a Guard dog at my Chain Link gates. Any person or animal who walks by gets barked at. Sometimes with hair raised. Will barrel past you when she is rung from one side of the house to the other and to back when she sees the Squirrels on the power lines.
    Unknown on kids.
    Likes other dogs when introduced.
    Unknown about cats.
Wants to catch and kill the Tree Squirrels around my house. They run on top of wood fence and power lines. Jumps up high on fence. But no try to jump over the fence. I know of 2 Blue-belly Lizards that she dispatched.
    Loves car rides.
Ok on a leash (pulls some). Need more work.
Mostly House and Kennel trained, but will growl at anyone she does not know that comes up to Kennel look at her. Never bitten, but not sure if a unknown person tries to take her out of kennel. Usually rattles the kennel when she has to go out. When in the house, usually comes over to touch then head to the back door to go out.
Inside at times (usually at night) and outside dog.
Needs a splash pond to run through and lie in. If you don't she will put her face and front feet in her water bucket. She gets hot with all her running around in the back yard and the Valley heat.
Chews on wood, plastic and other things, will dig if left outside awhile without a person. Plush toys, tennis balls are out (they won't last).
I give her Super Poop to keep her dog poop better than COW POOP style.
Will bark to the neighbors dogs through the Wood fence. I put up sheets so she could not see them. But she can still hear them.

SO she NEEDS a job to do with you. OR she will create a job.

I took her in and got her fixed because her previous owner was moving into a tiny apartment and the City Pound were on taking in any more dogs. I was hoping that a couple of rescue people I knew would help after her fixing. They could/would not take her. Has had her puppy shots also. Just got her 3yr Rabies shot on Oct 01, 2025.

HOW PET REHOMING WORKS WITH CCSPCA

The animals featured on this page are being rehomed by pet owners in the Central Valley who live specifically in Fresno County and the surrounding counties of Kings, Madera, Merced, Monterey, San Benito, and Tulare.

These animals are not in the care of CCSPCA, so all arrangements to meet/adopt must be made between potential adopters and the pet owner. Note: Central California SPCA is not responsible for the pets on this page. Potential adopters are responsible for communicating with pet owners, especially when acquiring veterinary records and/or other necessary information.

PLEASE NOTE: We DO NOT rehome strays, fosters, rescues, abandoned, or found animals.
